On the Book Bangladesh emerged as an independent nation in 1971 in the face of rigorous diplomatic opposition from the USA and China. Both these countries supported Pakistan during the nine-month gory war. The Soviet Union,on the other hand,as a superpower and India as a regional power extended their all-out supports for the Bangladesh movement. The book has gone into the details covering the roles of the USA,the Soviet Union,China and India during the 1971 crisis and the emergence of Bangladesh keeping in view an objective dissection of the superpowers’ roles during the period.
