In Bangladesh, about 98% of the population identifies with a single ethnicity- that is Bangalee. What about the rest 2%? Besides Bangalee, people of many ethnic groups live here. This is where it gets really interesting. There are various complications in the country on the question of ethnicity. In one hand there is disagreement about their identity, on the other hand there is disagreement about their number and population. Research has revealed that the socio-economic situation of plainland ethnic communities is significantly worse. The lives of forest and hill ethnic peoples are also threatened today. These issues are discussed in detail in this book. The book will help the readers in understanding problems that ethnic communities have been facing in Bangladesh.
