Near the Sea is a collection of poems by Masud Mahmood. The poems in this collection encompass universal human emotions like joy, misery, grief, love, helplessness etc. Written before, during and after the Covid-19 pandemic, these poems can also be a testimony to the changing psyche of the poet, and how a global pandemic can affect the life of an introspective individual.
The poems also shed light on the complex thought process of the poet regarding humanity, society, changing cultures, life, death and the world around us. Through handpicked words and masterfully incorporated metaphors and rhythm, Masud Mahmood weaves a beautiful tapestry of life of the mind in this collection.
