Reimagining the University: Best Practices for Higher Education in Bangladesh invites readers to see universities as catalysts driving intellectual freedom, talent cultivation, co-creation of knowledge, and transformative nation-building. The book affirms that great universities are built deliberately through purpose, policy, values, creative and cascading leadership, and sustained commitment.
Anchored in a five-pillar framework—holistic human capital, adaptive and accountable governance, sustainable resources, digital integration, and strategic partnerships—the book explores how institutions can cultivate excellence in research, teaching, and innovation while remaining rooted in local realities. It challenges universities to see faculty as change agents, students as co-creators of knowledge, teaching as inspirational, research as a foundation of self-reliance and innovation, and administrators as facilitators.
Blending global best practices with the aspirations of a developing nation, this volume offers direction and practical insight for academics, leaders, and policymakers. It is a call to reimagine the university as a transformative force—shaping minds, advancing knowledge, and contributing meaningfully to society’s future.
