“Behind every name lies a legacy. Behind every photo, a heartbreak. Behind every uniform, a promise silenced too soon.”
In 2009, Bangladesh witnessed one of the darkest chapters in its national history—the brutal massacre at Pilkhana during the BDR mutiny. It was a tragedy that shook the armed forces to their core and left an indelible scar on the nation’s collective memory.
Originally documented in the special issues of Bangladesh Defence Journal (March & April 2009, February 2014), this landmark volume returns to that unfinished story—not merely as journalists, but as historians, citizens, and guardians of truth. This first-of-its-kind archival tribute brings together:
Career profiles of the fallen officersMemories and reflections from their families, friends, and comradesRare photographs from their military service and personal livesOriginal analysis and commentary from defence scholars and senior military officialsPublished at a moment when, after 16 years of authoritarian suppression, the truth is beginning to surface, this collector’s edition stands as both a memorial and a testament to justice.
This is more than a book—it is a memorial in pages, a historical document for those who refuse to forget. For readers who believe in honor, justice, and the sanctity of sacrifice.
